@duncansan what i'm doing in this instance is:
- no icloud, no siri, no location services
- DoH to nextdns via mobile profile (see apple.nextdns.io)
- no sim card
- nextdns blocking of *.apple.com and *.icloud.com following installation of a small set of apps
- use only via a vpn travel router, that speaks wireguard (and has LTE uplink)
it's probably my last iphone
