he didn't do anything wrong (publicly, he is an utter creep in private) but he is also a total shit leader who should not be in any position of leadership.

gpl4 doesn't even exist, don't pre-worry about shit. there's not some invisible ethical source SJW cancel conspiracy lurking around every corner. take the issues one by one. we all agree stallman sucks as a leader and needs to go. don't prematurely optimize.

I'm going to pre-worry about shit when there's a letter calling for not just stallman's, but the entire board's resignations without a plan for who would be a good replacement. the only replacements I see coming from this are corporate bootlickers who would rather posture about social justice than work on legal issues related to free software.

I don't disagree the fsf could use a better leader, but if new leadership decides to come out with a permissive gpl4, lots of software will become available for faang to exploit due to the "or later" clause. nobody else I would trust has stepped up so I'm supporting stallman until a good successor is made obvious.
