Wow, April's Fools Day has been rough.

- I am now officially out of a job. So, bad news. Nothing left to do but negotiate the severance pay, and it will be as low as it can get.

- Couple of days earlier, a head hunter I knew got in touch, so I will get back to him ASAP... So, good news.

- Also a couple of days ago, I realized my previous employer left quite a nice lump sum in an investment fund, so I am getting some extra €€€... Which is going to be needed until I get another job! 😋

And, to end this, a note to self: always always ALWAYS remember that neither HR nor your boss are your friends.

You are nothing but a number to them. And that number is the amount of money they pay you.

@ParadeGrotesque the number is the amount of value you deliver to the organization, which is necessarily higher than your pay (or why hire you)

@sneak

Just remember that some people deliver very little value for a much, much higher pay than you will ever get.

@ParadeGrotesque if that were true then they would be replaced. this is a common misconception.

@sneak
I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the Peter Principle. 🤓

@ParadeGrotesque the peter principle doesn't stop someone who has risen to the level of incompetence to be detected and reassigned/dismissed.
