@surfingalot if going outside is instant death, then it's fine. antarctica is not instant death, so there are edge cases where you'd be exposed to terrible cold momentarily. being inside 100% of the time in climate control is ideal.
@surfingalot i mean it's not like anyone's realistically going to be able to have a patio, so what does it matter? LEO/MEO, the moon, mars - they're all going to be completely hermetically sealed with redundant life support systems running 24/7. that's pretty close to my life right now, just with better window seals/insulation, and no walk to the car.
@sneak I get the feeling that space / mars life is gonna involve a lot of space suits, and that is a lot like scuba diving for a living.
@surfingalot only if you want to go outside or venture between habs. i imagine there will be big bays for vehicles that have large locks on them, so by the time these places have cities worth visiting, you can probably live mostly without p-suit, much like air travel today.
@sneak so you basically are expecting something like a technical cruise ship? Imagine the outdoor decks are a climate controlled bubble.
