i just had to dfu restore my 16" intel rMBP because i booted to recovery and did "erase mac" to wipe the drive and it shut off and no key combo or power button input could cause a non-black screen
@surfingalot dfu restore makes more sense on the m1 devices. it shouldn't be necessary as often on t2 because the t2 has its own boot flash for bridgeOS separate from the SSD
@sneak I ran into a similar bug with an m1 because a complete wipe is not expected by the install software and it's hard to remake the partitioning it's expecting to do an new install. Also had to do a DFU thing.
