corporate america has so many wage slaves brainwashed that they won't even accept money if you try to put it in their hand.
i can't count the number of times i've had to explain to low skill/wage workers that it's *illegal* for an employer to prevent them from accepting tips.
@surfingalot once again reinforcing the unpopular but true idea that for most people who aren't otherwise disadvantaged, being poor in the usa is ultimately a choice

@sneak I tried giving a gym bro employee a cash tip for doing me a solid on a membership price and he refused, and it wasn't because of the rules as far as I could tell. It was interesting how the city to city culture is different with cash tips in the USA.
