Did you know that GNU Taler has been making the news in Europe for being a privacy and freedom respecting digital alternative to cash? Read the news (in German): u.fsf.org/3uq Also, read more about #GNUTaler at taler.net/

@fsf taler does not respect freedom or privacy, there is only one digital currency that matters and that is because they solved the bootstrapping problem

@fsf If a person trusts their bank then GNUTaler can boost anonymity by allowing a digital payment without the /vendor/ learning about you, all they learn is your bank. If bank and vendor were to collude then the anonymity would obviously be broken, but that's likely an extreme case.

Bitcoin and Monero obviously exist as a check on banks', allowing near total freedom and pseudo-anonymity that GNUTaler cannot achieve.

They are not mutually exclusive. If elected, I'd seek to have both integrated into the proposed, fully-FOS public bank.
