I love how with no quote posts we’ve made our way back to the RT @ era of Twitter, with no one sure of the best way to attribute thoughts to other people. 😂

I’ve generally been anti-quote posts but this proposal for adding quote posts to Mastodon has changed my mind. It thoughtfully puts the user in control of how their post can spread, something I sorely wished Twitter would when they shipped the don’t @ me feature. Twitter leadership believed that quote tweets offered an escape hatch for conversation controls, the ability to hold people in power accountable.
