Whats pushing me to finally update my personal laptop / computer: H265 & VP9 becoming the standard, where my PC can't keep up. And 4k60 @ 2x speed stuttering around.

@sneak yeah according to wikipedia you need a fairly recent CPU or GPU to get hardware VP9 / AV1 decoding now. How old is your xeon?
Apple might be also dragging their feet a bit with VP9
