What is with the tendency of people to talk politics forever and ever and ever and ever, even though they can't and won't really do much about it.

At this point I feel like it's human instinct. People bring it up and people find it emotionally engaging and entertaining and it comes from all sorts of personalities.

@surfingalot same reason people like to hear about the affairs of the king's court, or follow celebrity gossip, or engage with their sports team's comeback narrative. humans are social primates and we like to know who did what to whom and why, even if it's *totally irrelevant* to our life.

@sneak I think it was very relevant for us in our tribal years as a species. Definitely an instinct.
