One thing I would like in laptop design would be fast SD style cards becoming the 'hard drive' standard, kind of like the guy did in this article:

It would mesh well with the qubes concept of the 'trusted stick' so you can make your hardware stateless.

@sneak yeah the trusted stick would be v2. I want removable main storage with multiple slots seamless with the body for reasons more than security, for video & photo management reasons + easy upgradability and device swapping.

Going across national borders with a default state card and then downloading a 40GB image of the basic stuff you actually need once done crossing onto another would be awesome. Now it's a bunch of extra work to do so.

@sneak then I have to deal with dangling usb sticks and drives that perform worse than internal disks and disconnect during inopportune moments not very nice for a mobile device.
