substack is a trash platform run by trash people, but this article is spot on, despite greenwald’s general failings as a person

@sneak
> accusing a tech investor of using a slur

man the standards really have gone down
@icedquinn @sneak If I ever get a major investor, I will demand he publicly post himself reading a comprehensive list of slurs, or I won't trust a dime of his money.
@sneak would you explain your opinion on substack? all I know is that it's an alternative or sorts to medium. is it just bad for the same reasons medium is?

@mr64bit at least one of the founders donates content to alt-right media; i'm not interested in supporting business owners like that.

@sneak
It was probably one of the "voluntary hall monitors and speech police" that told you.
@mr64bit

@frank87 @mr64bit nope, it was me noticing that they were voluntarily doing podcast episodes with quillette. interesting however that you immediately moved to discredit my viewpoint without knowing it.

@sneak
Then you are the "hall monitor"...
You're telling us substack is bad because on if its founders had opinions you don't like.
Totally unsolicited. You could have send the link without any downplaying of the people involved.

You're a bit infected by the lazy journalists in the article: looking at the messager in stead of the message.
@mr64bit

@frank87 @mr64bit it's up to you what you do with the information. i want people to be more informed so they can make better choices.

if you think that's cancel culture, you're a hammer looking for a nail. :(

@sneak
Could be.
Because the article is about cancel culture, your introduction with "I know these people suck, but this is really a good article", looks a bit like fear of the cancel culture.
I really don't think you're the canceling kind:-)
@mr64bit
@sneak Thanks. I usually take "X supports the alt-right" with a few huge grains of salt, but I'll look into it.
