People who don't believe in afterlife feel a part of them (DNA, values, beliefs) go on living through their descendants; they have a part of their DNA, memories of them and were raised by them. Of course, in the end, it vanishes like everything else. Personally, I love my children, I don't want them to live and suffer in the inferno of a 5°C hotter earth.
