after spending so long in my cave, i forgot the terrible state of infrastructure in north america. this airport wifi is 1mbps. it's 2021.

i might as well go hang out in the third world, at least it's cheap.

@sneak I'm writing this from the third world (Nicaragua). I have 30mbps at my house by choice. I could have 200mbs any time I choose to sign a new contract (but I don't because I have no need for it). Oh, and the airport wifi is routinely 50mbps. So yes, come to the third world for better wifi and cheaper cost of living.

@PeterSanchez yeah this hotel is 10mbps and in one of the airports i was in to get to it i got 1.5mbps

@sneak @PeterSanchez I was completely floored last time I was in Belize, the airport and the condo I stayed in had 200 / 200, meaning faster than my internet at my house, and the lag was pretty similar using a VPN to connect to my office in the states. Starlink is going to scare a lot of ISP's into upping their game

@sneak Yes I am. I'm American, so I got the Moderna last time I traveled back to Los Angeles.
