.@apple's macOS — The only OS that *does not* charge your battery when you plug in the power cord. 🤦‍♂️

Toggling "Optimize battery charging" does nothing. Power plugged in, battery still discharging.

When Steve Jobs said "Think Different™", I'm pretty sure this kind of stuff isn't what he had in mind.

@taoeffect "not charging" means your psu is too weak, it's not the optimized charging.

use a ~100W PSU with a usb-c cable that is verified to support usb-pd

@sneak Huh? This was a wall outlet. Plenty of power. Eventually started charging because macOS randomly decided it was OK now.

@taoeffect what is plugged in to the wall outlet that is producing DC? what cable is bringing the DC to the mac?

@taoeffect they come in different wattages, and the usb cable used to bring the power to the mac also needs to support usb-pd

@sneak It’s what came in the box with Apple. This is clearly a weird macOS thing, not the wall or the inverter’s fault.
