Captured with the Phase One XF camera and Schneider 80mm/2.8 "Blue Ring" lens. I had planned to use a technical camera and Rodenstock 70mm, providing movements, but a cable was missing from the kit I brought with me. Fortunately, the 80mm was just wide enough to not require movements, though the Schneider lens renders highlights (as starbursts) a bit idiosyncratically for my taste.

@mattblaze did you rent it or is this a humblebrag that you carry around a $35k camera?

@sneak@sneak.berlin @mattblaze@federate.social pretty sure Matt was the cryptography prof that realized he was sitting on millions of dollars with the crypto.com domain name a few years ago. Owning a $35k camera wouldn't be much of a flex compared to that.

@survivalmachine @mattblaze as if all early crypto people aren’t millionaires with toys lol. 35k is 35k

@mattblaze @survivalmachine it was a friendly question but ok, as you wish

@sneak @survivalmachine well, it comes across as a weirdly patronizing, snide dig. I’ve been a serious photographer for the better part of half a century. I try hard to use the tools that work well for me. I’m fortunate that I’m well enough off that that’s mostly not a limitation, though that’s not always been the case.

@mattblaze @survivalmachine i also carry around $15k of camera gear thanks to crypto, much the same deal. i’ve got a 61MP a7r4 with the trinity of f/2.8 g masters (16-35, 35-70, 70-200) and i’m definitely a slut for optics and resolution, but 150MP for another $20k on top seems like massive overkill/flex. to each their own, though.
