i'm beginning to think that the only way to run a real community with anything resembling low-latency interaction is to bite the bullet and get an Apple developer account so that a non-bigtech server can send notifications to the computers people actually use these days.

sort of a bummer that you can't run a social network without apple's permission.

@wizzwizz4 @tulpa @alexandra they will always require something scarce and of value, such as energy (e.g. in the star trek replicator universe), so they will always require some input of value from the user to work.

perhaps you are talking about some universe in which the conservation of energy no longer exists, but i can't imagine that.

@vance the light from light therapy lamps is mostly irrelevant and useless. you need sun-level bright which you can't buy a single product for, you need to custom build. or just take antidepressants that work.
