The moon blew up without warning and for no apparent reason.

the usa’s ban on polygamy is an anti-mormon thing and is actually unconstitutional in my view

wow they really fucked up the notifications in ios lately. i can have an empty notification center and have an unread sms.

@xorman in a word, censorship. hard censorship via bans, soft censorship via algorithmic sorting and making it so that you don't see what the platform doesn't want you to see (even if it's somewhere there for the digging)

supporting freedom of expression (which definitionally means supporting expression of things you vehemently disagree with, or are factually incorrect, misinformation, "dangerous", etc) seems to be unpopular now. that's disappointing and sad.

@leo @moonbolt @cadey all modern macs and iphones support WebAuthn (if they have icloud keychain enabled, which is on by default, and are running latest OS) via passkeys

@ademalsasa i would share it privately if you're interested

"ourhardworkbythesewordsguardedpleasedontsteal(c)AppleComputerInc"

@leo @moonbolt @cadey one would think their audience would tolerate requiring WebAuthn

@m0xee it is much worse now, they rewrote it and it doesn't do half the shit it used to

@cadey @moonbolt the answer to "tailscale requires centralized third-party auth?" is "yes". headscale is not tailscale and does not have any of this wacky unnecessary ssh userspace networking stuff.

@cadey @moonbolt i don't use microsoft or google federated logins so i can't use tailscale; want to just tell us?

@cadey ahhh yes my favorite security feature in a browser: a complete networking stack downloaded from a remote computer and executed locally with JIT

updating macOS to ventura (13.x) from monterey (12.x) still requires plaintext port 80 ocsp connections to ocsp.digicert.com before the updater will notice a new version available. apple promised that would stop more than a year ago

if you wrote a very very good non-foss replacement for Disk Utility.app i bet apple would buy it eventually

i hope he unfucks twitter so i can go back

@ademalsasa i have a docker container i run that has cron, ssh, postfix, certbot, dovecot, rspamd, redis, and radicale in it.

i just opened a plist in vim and it tried to make an http request to apple.com to fetch the PropertyList-1.0.dtd (via xmllint). ugh.
