So: Twitter, am I surprised? No, not at all.
I'm actually glad they're ripping the mask off of the bias at Twitter, which - as a site with its role in social media - is a terrible thing.
And I'd far rather have a site that allows terrible things to be said than one that keeps me thinking the world is a kind, safe place for me and mine, when it's not.

Someone asked, "Who gets to decide what gets moderated on the Fediverse? And who decides what's seen or unseen?"
You do!
If you don't like someone, block them!
If you don't like an instance, block it!
If you don't like your instance, leave it!
If no instance is to your liking, start your own!
If you don't like other instances, de-federate them!
If you don't like federation itself, turn it off!
Ultimately, the Fediverse gives you the freedom of association—exercise it as you see fit.
@surfingalot i'm sure some part of that is elon-specific and some part of that is that most startups that are aggressively trying to seek profitability have "yikes land" in a scary amount of areas.
@cadey this should not be this funny

Another day, another CVE caused by C memory unsafety.
The #NixOS experience is fucking up your dev VM on accident, reimaging it from scratch in 5 minutes and then being able to do productivity again in. Fucking hell I love this OS.

@codewiz fun attack on this would be to put on a vest on the concourse, stop 100s of people, ask for boarding pass, and write SSSS on them in red sharpie.
