The FTC would like Americans to comment on its proposed actions on online data surveillance and security.

My first comment is: Fix your own website. It requires Javascript on before anything at all loads. And has tracking devices including from Google of course.

Starting a band called Main Page. We will quickly become popular, since Wikipedia will have no choice but to include a disambiguation link to us at the top of its own homepage.

Google said it would "delete" location data that show visits to "sensitive" locations, which include abortion clinics and some other places.

In regard to location data, it is a good first step, but limited. It is limited because (1) it excludes all the other places people might not want to be tracked to, and (2) it excludes location data collectors other than Google.

Most crucially, it doesn't include the places where you might someday arrange to meet a reporter to disclose a crime committed by the state.

I am not sure what it means to say they "delete" this data rather than not storing it. Is it just another way of saying the same thing? If it really means something tangible, it seems like a risky mistake.
