wow the documentation for fabric (python ssh admin tool) is terrible

it bothers me disproportionately when people tell lies about me. i'm fine if you share negative opinions about me or whatever, that's your business, but it really grinds my gears when people spread factually incorrect statements about me

hey @leah and @rixx - github.com/chaossocial/about/b says that this instance is blocked due to "privacy violation" which I think is false. please advise.

imagine being proud of this first bullet point, on stage

i got a music box, so naturally now i have to write software to convert midi to g-code for a laser cutter.

keep getting rate-limited by my own masto because docker's userspace l3 proxy obscures source IP in http requests because docker is dumb and mastodon has no knob(!) for disabling rate limiting.

a computer can never be held accountable

therefore a computer must never make a management decision

50th anniversary of the Roland Corporation. roland.com/us/roland-50th-anni

Oh, my goodness, we had an EP10 at school, I was allowed to take it home once for the holidays.

facebook outrage mobs lynch a few dozen people because people claim the site isn't sufficiently censored. meanwhile, computer-aided disease research prevents millions of deaths. woke twitterati declare computers the cause of the world's downfall!

it's trendy to hate computers, hate software, hate the internet, and think they're making our world worse.

this is a stupid, stupid, naive, fad-chasing take. our world is better than it has ever been, and computers are largely responsible.

the same people who are telling me that software-based voting systems are entirely untrustworthy are in the group saying that the last election's results (conducted via software voting) are accurate and trustworthy and free of fraud.

2 mins using pixelfed and i'm finding ridiculous basic broken stuff :/

github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/i

my list of things wrong:

1) this is a useless feature that should have been deprioritized and the time used elsewhere

2) it should be a freeform text field, it's way more time/effort to make a list

3) now someone has to update the list because there isn't an "other..." option, increasing the time sunk into this useless feature

4) the 99% use case is not at the top of the list

5) nobody, and i mean nobody, knows that you need to command-click to select multiple items in a multiselect list

pixelfed.social has an itemized list of pronouns you're allowed to use on your pixelfed profile. you can't just type into a plain text box, there's a list that you can choose from. you can choose up to 4. they're almost all made up words that don't exist.

there are many things wrong with this. at least 3.
