When you see the SSSS mark on your ticket, it means you've been randomly selected for an extra security check at the gate.

apparently the iphone 14 pro has startup and shutdown chimes now if your silent switch is not enabled? wow.

there is software that my tax dollars have paid to produce that is not free to me to download and is not released under open source licenses.

@sneak I found this when looking for a way to do that: gist.github.com/hcmiya/e635b31

This sort of setup being well integrated and easy to switch on would be a great feature.

i think elon musk is generally doing a good job of running the companies he runs, and i think he will do a good job with twitter, as well. it's clear twitter was massively mismanaged and was slowly evaporating as a business due to sustained and terminal unprofitability.

it really bothers me a lot that remote blocks cause my own local mastodon to hide content that i have in my own local db (and perhaps delete it from my db?).

this would be like your email client honoring remote deletes. it's gaslighting!

really looking forward to tor hidden service AP instances (and support in mastodon/etc to work with them).

i'm rate limited on my own mastodon server with no way to turn it off (TRUSTED_PROXY_IP) until i upgrade masto (which i can't do until my 400GB s3 media migration is done)

no seriously though please toot at me and mention your favorite accounts

wow @cadey you seem like the very last person i would have guessed is a "please disable your adblocker" type.

in fact a bot for an instance that randomly retweets/boosts/reblogs any post from the last hour would be great, then you could remote follow the bot and be exposed to a random cross-section of the userbase of an instance

@dansup it would be cool if there were a built in bot on a pixelfed instance that would make a toot every hour or day or something with a recently-active or recently-popular user (or just reblog a recently popular post) so that remote (or even local) users could follow it to discover more good users/content. i want to follow like the top 10-20 users on pixelfed but there's no easy way to do that.

filed this one while trying to do it...
