wtaf: npm is connecting to registry.npmjs.org (microsoft) when i run "npm help install".

i'm so tired of this shit

it used to be to get the black apple stickers you had to buy a quite-expensive "pro" mac (not including macbook pro, an inconsistency). they came with the mac pro, the imac pro, etc.

now they come with at least the 16" MacBookPro18,2 (m1max) and I would assume they come with the MacBookPro18,1 (m1pro)

sneak boosted

i'm just over here installing high sierra

i would like apple to make a new macbook using an arm chip, it would be so much better than the MacBook{8,9,10},1 atom systems. they were great, 12" 2304x1440 @226ppi.

thank fuck for "softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer"

also disable js to see some interesting strings here:

googleplex.com

looks like google is intent on suckling at the teat

it would be a real shame if these internal google employee tech support numbers got publicized

looking for a cli program that takes ansi/vt escape sequences as input, and gives bitmap/png/jpg as output. please advise.

what do you name your external hard drives?

my workstations are named nostromo, cyberdyne, and meatfucker. i need distinct and useful names for my external attached storage

@lxo you're no longer conversing in good faith, so i'm going to add you to the list of people i've muted. further interactions will not be read. have a nice day.

@lukas@digitalcourage.social @bram i am also not affiliated with signal or its development in any way, so you're wrong on that count too.

@dwaltiz @lxo also nobody who cares about the AGPL is suing anyone. truth social published their source code to avoid a legal battle because "loser pays", the default in the rest of the world, is not how civil suits work in the usa. even if you win, it costs you five or six figures.

@dwaltiz @lxo you don't know the difference between civil and criminal law. you aren't "found guilty" for violating the gpl.

@lukas@digitalcourage.social @bram you're asserting false things. set up a matrix server and access it from a web client and look at the web inspector. it talks to those servers automatically, no opt in.

@chjara@mk.absturztau.be i mean it's also simply a tool-assisted speedrun (literally)

@dwaltiz @lxo for the record, that has never once happened in a first-world country to anyone, so it would be a first in history.
