Japan should consider hosting U.S. nuclear weapons, Abe says | The Japan Times

@jonn i dont understand what you want from me?

@station_1312@mastodon.online my point was that there are 150M other people who would like to take putin's job, many of them very smart and talented. he's not a fool otherwise he would have been deposed a long time ago.

@station_1312@mastodon.online petty tyrant doesn't become an emperor of the largest country on earth

if i lived in minsk right now i would be quite fearful

@jonn the vast majority of human beings aren't intelligent or civilized in any way

@jonn oh, i'm not defending ignorance. i think ignorant people should be left to die of their own ignorance. i am just explaining it: it's not sociopathy, just dumb motherfuckers.

@stux sometimes i call @tutu 's brain a "tiny smooth walnut brain" because she can be so stupid sometimes now that she is old

The btc address published by the twitter @ukraine account yesterday (357a3So9CbsNfBBgFYACGvxxS6tMaDoa1P) has already received $3.5mm USD in donations.

Another $5mm USD has been sent to their published ethereum address:

@jonn the claim that suddenly dozens of millions of people develop sociopathy doesn't hold water. it's propaganda, not some innate defect in the person. they got duped by people who are literal professionals at deceiving members of the public into supporting wars.

@jonn i think that there was definitely a split between, say, waffen-ss invaders going into foreign countries in '41, and reservists trying to fend off the red army in berlin in '45.

also, civilians are almost never directly responsible for what their national military does, it's almost always literally impossible to exert any amount of control over them. most civilians are always against war of any kind unless they are sucked in with lies.

one of the characteristics of good propagandists: make sure that your broad-stroke claims have at least a tiny kernel of truth, so that people who are sucked in by charisma and want to believe have a small hook to hang the rest of your bogus ideology on:

not one of the answers to "why is putin doing this?" that i have heard really make any sense. there is something else going on here. he's not stupid, nor a madman.

@chjara@mk.absturztau.be is that water ice?

russia is one of the largest and best countries in the world, and full of some of the best, smartest, and brightest humans. if after hundreds of years these sorts of tragedies still play out, what more damning condemnation of state power and authority could there possibly be?

@dheadshot @Gargron putin is not dumb; it is possible they are simply pro-kremlin people and not just accounts. there must be several millions at least who bought putin's lies. many in the usa bought bush's lies and there were more contrarian voices available to them. the situation in russia is worse.

@jonn @Gargron not necessarily, they may just be uninformed and ignorant of the fact that they are uninformed. there are lots of stupid and busy people out there. propaganda is effective.
