They tried with Trump, but Trump was too narcissistic to be controlled and that backfired. Next time it'll be planned, not opportunistic, and it's going to be terrifyingly efficient

Half the things people brought up as suggestions were aimed to "recreate the office environment". But they recreate the absolute worst aspects of working in an office

Examples:

Have a shared Zoom meeting that everyone is in whenever they aren't on another meeting, so that people are easy to interrupt/ask a question (have y'all not heard of Slack?!);
Have a "day start" Zoom. Is it like a daily standup? NO! It's so people can see when you come in, just like in an office! I guess no one needs flexibility in their work, and peer surveillance is a goal!

The number of leaders who thought that their biggest team challenge was ensuring that people are actually working was... impressive. They're so much more worried about "is your butt in the chair from 8-4:30?" than "are you responsive, getting your tasks done in a timely fashion, and delivering quality work?"
