i have a zip of a consulting client's post-compromise webroot in my google drive. google won't let me download a zip of the folder containing this zip because it contains a virus.

google drive locking me out of my client data. cool.

@dragestil@hostux.social because almost everyone who gets involved with gnu is clueless/robot. i don't know of *any* GNU software that's really, really good.

@surfingalot @mastodon perhaps but mattermost is a big codebase and reading code is more hard than writing it

@x i hate all of the apps i know of for ios that speak activitypub

yt-dlp works for me whereas youtube-dl no longer does. i hate when i have to learn meta information about my tools

@dragestil@hostux.social hmm this might work but i bet it's trash software judging by the fact that it's gnu. will look into it.

i have created a profile on the excellent blob.cat server for tutu, who will now be posting at @tutu for all your blobby, cat-related needs

cc @mewmew @allison @Jain and anyone else who cares about cats who are blobs who are also cats

@mastodon you can and i do but the fact that it's f/oss and spyware means that it can never be trusted. mine's years out of date because i don't want to maintain a patchset

@Upjohn94 please refrain from offering authoritative-looking opinions from ignorance

@Upjohn94 false, the most popular phone in the world does not do this

oh, and a minimal selfhosted discord clone (mattermost is spyware)

apps i need to write:

- centralized selfhosted instagram/pixelfed clone with a react native uploader client

- twitter v1 clone that just lists all your friends last status

- clock (time.gov is shit)

- start page

@Upjohn94 nobody is going to use any of that crap, the only thing keybase was good for was e2e file send to a username.

i can't believe it's 2021 and i have to write a photo hosting webapp and uploader app, because the entire universe moved onto centralized, censored SaaS.

@alexandra i don't remember, it's whatever ubuntu installed and it seems to work fine. i might have changed it but who knows

@dansup it's probably not my place to say but being able to upload pictures from the device i take pictures on is more important to 99.9% of users than translations or threaded comments (or even comments at all)
