@TonyStark the cult of guns (of which i am a member) is not based on the concept of "little regard for actual people". this is a common simplistic misunderstanding, based on uncritical swallowing of a general narrative.

12.x dropped support for my macbook air :/

@beachbardave@bitcoinhackers.org uhh yes it would make sense that the people who are actually paying the bulk of the taxes would do the bulk of the complaining. i bet the complaining is more or less linear with amount that has to be paid?

@lis i think the tone is just up/down or down/up or same/same, not so specifically dependent on pitch? tbh i have no idea how this works in practice with music. i will ask.

@amiko the only way that push notifications work for clients using element on ios is by going to the vector.im centralized server *first*. all push notifications in apple land have to come from the app developer. for element, that's the centralized matrix developers.

at that point you might as well use instagram DMs; it has more people on it.

you don't get to be a rich person bitching about taxes unless you are also regularly tipping service staff $100.

anyone else slightly annoyed that their tungsten cube is slightly ferromagnetic due to having nickel in the alloy?

i think the next flex is a non-ferromagnetic tungsten cube

fox news now calling for assassination of government staff: nytimes.com/2021/12/23/busines

when called on it, they didn't fire the guy, they decided to gaslight: you didn't understand his metaphor for hard hitting questions.

@amiko you don't know how notifications work on iOS, do you?

@farbod @amiko matrix is trash, and has been trash for years, and appears to continue to remain trash for the foreseeable future, therefore not only are you wrong, i am now tempted to ignore your opinions about technology in the future.

@doenietzomoeilijk it's funny you say that; the bulk tests that I have that cost only marginally more than the dutch ones came from china and are illegal to import under US law. people who think the USA has capitalism or a free market are broadcasting their own ignorance of the situation.

@doenietzomoeilijk lol the PCR tests here cost hundreds of dollars and you can't get an appointment for over a week. the usa is worse than soviet russia right now.

US CBP has installed facial recognition software at over 175 airports in the USA to scan arriving passengers:

@Maryam no this holds true everywhere in the world presently

this was tweeted september 7th. it's still accurate, more than 90 days later, during yet another huge wave. tests are not widely available, and where they are, they cost 3-5x this amount.
