why does the bbc call hamas a militant group instead of a terrorist group? tony blair did it in 2009. they're still starting wars and conducting terrorism against both israel and the palestinian people. is it purely because of the current PC trend?

@stibbons so many hot takes saying this. if you have someone you trust to certify that trees got planted, you have a trusted third party (TTP) already and don't need a cryptocurrency, you can just use a paypal-style database. proof of work solves an actual problem, which is that a TTP can't always be trusted at all times or by all people.

As far as i can tell, Hamas started a war this month, and in that short and ill-advised war, hundreds of Palestinians died. I wonder what it would take for Palestinians to get tired of Hamas starting wars which Israel can very easily and quickly win.

@pleb yeah i use a GL-E750 box that looks like a mi-fi but runs openwrt and has a nice little web interface, has LTE backhaul and can be a wireguard client. i use it instead of putting sims into my phones/tablets, everything vpns. want to 5G 5G 5G
